On the shooting line
- Stay behind the waiting line until the whistle signals it’s safe to approach the shooting line.
- Only nock an arrow once you are standing at the shooting line and facing your target.
- Never dry-fire a bow (releasing a drawn string without an arrow).
Whistle signals
- One whistle – start shooting.
- Two whistles – stop shooting, collect arrows.
- Three or more whistles – emergency stop, lower your bow immediately.
General safety
- New or unsupervised members must have their equipment checked by an instructor before shooting.
- The safety zone downrange and to the sides of the targets must stay clear – no unauthorized persons or pets beyond the waiting line.
- Report any damaged equipment or target to a committee member immediately.
- Whoever uses the range last is responsible for tidying up and locking up.
